Historian of great prestige, Aramando Braun Menéndez (1898-1986) was one of the most important active collectors in his time; Among the collected treasures, he managed to acquire, together with his partner and his friend Bonifacio del Carril, the originals raised in the Malaspina expedition as it passed through the southernmost region, works by José del Pozo, Fernando Brambila and Juan Ravenet.
