This title complements other texts published by the author, in which he referred to different historical episodes, such as the reconquest of Buenos Aires and the public actions of Generals Manuel Belgrano and José de San Martín. Mitre writes it in response to the criticisms leveled by Vicente Fidel López, replying to him once again, resorting to unpublished documents, where -in his opinion- there are useful revelations for history, so that the truth is enough by itself.
