At the half century of existence of the Club del Progreso, the Board of Directors chaired by Roque Saénz Peña remembers the process of gestation and participation of the Club and its members in the civic life of the country. His pioneering character stands out in the formation of social entities after the fall of Rosas, motivated by political action, "since it was the motive that determined the association of efforts." He considers that its most glorious time was consolidated until 1862 "when Buenos Aires society was not characterized by its cosmopolitanism" and when "it was the only exponent of culture and intelligence." It includes portraits of the founders, lists of the boards of directors, photos of the old buildings and of the new headquarters on Avenida de Mayo where it moved in 1900. It is made up of signed articles and reminders from the newspapers, as well as the speeches for the anniversary.
