After the territorial campaigns of 1880 in the northern Santa Fe and southern Chaco regions, agricultural colonies with immigrant populations began to form. In the distribution of public lands, the consolidation of head towns that would gather the basic institutional equipment and health and educational services was foreseen. The Colonia Florencia, which today has transcended due to the collapse of the Vicentín cereal company, was a model experience in the layout of the urban ejido with the distribution of the subdivision and the immediate periphery, including the design of the Administration house, the warehouse ( “general branches” as they used to be called) and the school. In general, the jurisdiction of the town included an area similar to the agrarian lot and its public spaces and avenues were larger, as can be seen in other examples in the region.
