The copy contains a period note with very interesting references about the author “(...) known, in addition to his water works, for having drawn a map of Buenos Aires in 1853. He came, it seems, when the first blockade to the port of Bs Aires by the French (...)”

A true specialist in the matter, the author analyzes this phenomenon of the waters promoting the realization of the so-called artesian wells, describing their different forms and technical data. Among his benefits in Argentina, he lists the provision of drinking water in populated centers, and also for its use in agriculture and in raising cattle and sheep. All these advantages promoted government support for the initiative; Thus, Sourdeaux thanks General Miter and his ministers, Messrs. Sarmiento, Obligado and Costa.
