The landscape transmits us, with its freshness and clarity, a beautiful spring or summer day in the Cordoba mountains. On the grass we can see a slight zigzagging pedestrian path that leads us towards the wide valley. The textured surface by the use of the spatula and the predominance of blue -replacing black in the shadows- link it to Impressionism, particularly to German, a style that it shares with its contemporary Fader, both of whom were trained in Germany and both of their  German ancestry. As José León Pagano wrote, "Carlos Heim's pictorial conquests, the best, belong to the chromatic order." (1)

Carlos Heim (Buenos Aires, 1899 - 1963) studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts. He traveled to Europe, stayed there for four years and toured artistic centers in France and Germany. In 1940 he published a method for learning drawing entitled New Drawing Method. He practiced teaching. He attended the National Hall since 1927 and the salons of La Plata, Mar del Plata, Santa Fe, Rosario and Córdoba. He exhibited individually at the Müller, Van Riel and Witcomb galleries. Among other recognitions, he obtained the Stimulus Award at the National Hall in 1945.
