This book, as we read on the title page, was commissioned by the Argentine Central Committee for the Philadelphia Exposition, held in 1876, to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the Independence of the United States. Based on statistics, the German scientist Ricardo Napp developed a detailed description of the benefits of the Republic, both natural and political and economic. Napp arrived in the country together with a group of European scientists —especially German— recommended by Burmeister to the then president Sarmiento, for the creation of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Córdoba. The data offered by the Foreign Trade Statistics, referring to the five-year period 1870-1875, stand out.

Ángel María Zuloaga (1885 - 1975), from whose library this copy comes, was one of the creators of the national aeronautics; his feats in the air allowed him to break South American records, cross the Andes for the first time over its high peaks in a hot air balloon in 1916, direct the Military Aviation School and much more. Taming the sky was undoubtedly his great desire, but in his daily chore another task awakened illusions and pleasures: enjoying reading in his favorite place, the library.
