The still life with flowers was Marcos Tiglio's favorite genre. The present shows us a set of fleshy gardenias and hydrangeas, placed on a white semicircular vase. The circle formed by the flowers and the vase, located in the center of the composition, are balanced by the artist in the straightness of the shapes and brushstrokes of the rest of the work: the table, the door and other rectangular shapes. He also sought balance in the colors, between the whites, greens, blues and reds of the central figure, as opposed to the gray of the background, illuminated with a garish yellow. Magnificent resolution for the classic genre, in which the influence of his friend and his teacher Miguel Carlos Victorica is evident. From his teaching work at the Popular University of La Boca, he maintained the persistence of the pictorial tradition of the School of La Boca, the identity nucleus of Buenos Aires painting.
