Manuel Giménez (Mercedes, province of Buenos Aires: 1904 -?), lived as a young man in Spain - there are references that in 1927 he was in Vigo, whose museum preserves his work. Back in his country, he received the advice of Mario Zavattaro - who guided him in his beginnings through Creole art -, from the portrait artist Ramón Subirats and even from Fernando Fader, with whom he shared unforgettable days in Deán Funes, Córdoba, in 1930. He was also, friend and disciple of fray Guillermo Butler. In 1939 he moved to the city of Paraná, where he shared the studio with Bernaldo de Quirós. Restless, in the years 1956 and 1957 he lived in San Pablo, Brazil; its art museum has his painting. He also resided in the Traslasierra valley, Córdoba province.

Since 1934 he exhibited in different museums in the country. In 1936 he did it in the Colonial, Historical and Fine Arts Museum of the province of Corrientes, when the provincial government acquired "Las cigarreras" (oil, 1.90 x 1.80 m) for the collection of said museum.

Pieces of his authorship is preserved in the museums Benito Quinquela Martín -Buenos Aires-; Municipal of Fine Arts Genaro Pérez -Córdoba-; Río IV -Mendoza-, Bahía Blanca;  Ateneo de San Juan, and other official institutions in the country.

Gesualdo in his "Encyclopedia of Art in America" describes him: "Portrait and field landscape and port painter of remarkable quality". The writer Joaquín Gómez Baz wrote about him: "he can paint crying and he can paint a smile", in a highly praising critique of his art.
