The historical review presents the path of government actions and the first immigrants who colonized the territory of Santa Fe, opening a path of progress and hope, a spirit that gave its name to the first colony built there.

Manuel María Cervera (1863 - 1956) graduated as a lawyer in Buenos Aires in 1887 and was appointed judge in Santa Fe in 1904, becoming a member of the Superior Court of the province between 1918 and 1926. His vocation for history would begin precisely with this book from 1906 and will continue a year later with the great work “History of the city and province of Santa Fe”. His various works on the Chapter Acts prompted him to enter the National Academy of History and to found the Historical Museum and the Board of Historical Studies of his province. This work by Cervera deals with what is recognized as the first colonization -Esperanza- which begins the territorial epic in the northeast, an advance that decades later will facilitate the campaigns carried out in that region.
