BEAUTIFUL AND USEFUL

Pair of iron stirrups. Europe (?) XIX century.


Cast and chiselled iron. Measurements. Height: 14.8 cm. (5.82 in.) Opening: 10 cm. (3.39 in.).


Characteristic in the ring stirrups, it has a round opening and in the lower section, in this variant, it has a small skirt decorated with a square pattern. Its footprint or depth, concave and openwork. The eye stands out, with an infrequent design, and located in the same line as the footprint.


Identified as stirrups of hoop, or ring, they were part of the Creole littoral riding. (1) This specimen, of probable European origin.
