Herd whip with rapier.

With its wooden body, he has a beautiful carved ivory pommel, with the representation of a saddle (of a cowboy?) With all the riding gear, including a lasso and even a scraper. At the other end, a cap and a silver ring to fix the leather ropes here, absent. It keeps intact the rapier holding system, which is inside the cape.

Measures. Knob length: 8.2 cm / 3.22 in. Total length: 40 cm / 15.74 in.

Steel rapier, with four tables and sharp point, with the vestiges of its ancient decoration engraved.

Tito Saubidet explains it in his reference book, “There have been herd whips with rapier or stiletto hidden inside the cape. So it happened that in a fight, one of the adversaries who tried to wrest the other from the driver, kept the line in his hand, while the other kept holding the weapon by the hilt”. (1)
