The history of this Museum is based on two proper names: Olga Blinder and Oscar Colombino, who created in 1972 the so-called Circulating Collection, the patrimonial base of this cultural space of international projection.

If you visit Asunción, it is an authentic cultural “duty” to allocate a part of your agenda to the visit to the CAV - MdB; today divided into three chapters: the Visual Arts Center, the Museo del Barro itself, the Museum of Indigenous Art and the Paraguayan Museum of Contemporary Art. Each space with its address, the task of true referents of Latin American culture: Ticio Escobar, Osvaldo Salerno, Lia Colombino and Félix Toranzos, respectively.

From our space we invite you to enjoy the videos edited by the Museo del Barro; You will find them on their YouTube channel. They are in full production of a series dedicated to the crafts and popular and indigenous art of Paraguay. Each chapter has its own attractions; as, for example, silverware, textiles from Chaco, and they have just posted the sixth installment, referring to Feather Art: Ishir and Ayoreo; In fourteen minutes, Lia Colombino presents us with a captivating story that advances through the materiality of these works and the myths that gave rise to it.
